Hancock & Moore has been making masterpieces since 1981 when master craftsman Jimmy Moore turned his lifetime passion for furniture making into a legacy. Jimmy grew up learning the skills of an artisan, turning wood into beautiful, heirloom furniture. To this day, up to 80 hours are spent handcrafting a piece of Hancock & Moore furniture. Every sofa, game chair and bench bares the signature of the artisan that created it, reflecting the hard days work that went into its construction.  For more than 100 years, Hickory Chair has been crafting custom wood and upholstered furnishings in a wide range of classic styles. Inspired by such historical sites as Winterthur Country Estate and the James River Plantations, as well as by noted furniture authorities such as Mariette Himes Gomez, Albert Sack, Suzanne Kasler, David Phoenix, Susan Hable and in 2019, Ray Booth. Our North Carolina craftsmen hand-make every frame with locally sourced, sustainable wood. We utilize time-tested, artisan construction techniques, from eight-way hand tied coils to hand-cut-and-sewn patterns. Our cushions are custom fitted and our skirts are precisely cut, lined and mitered for a perfect drape every time. 

For nearly 40 years Maitland-Smith and has specialized in fine home furnishings, lighting and accessories, including fine living room, occasional and formal dining room furniture. We are honored to collaborate with Tony Duquette, Hutton Wilkinson, Susan Hable, Celerie Kemble, Donald Bustraan and the Museum of New Mexico to expand our unique assortment.
